Description of Position’s Essential Functions:

The manager of the St. George operations is responsible for managing the St. George, UT office, as well as the surrounding area.  The manager is responsible for daily workload management and completing locate requirements with direct supervision of supervisors and crew of 3-7 locators.  Daily contact by phone and in person with utility managers and crews in resolution of problems, conflicts, and overall customer satisfaction.  Prioritize work by going through all locate requests, and assigning the appropriate work force to each requirement.  Manager is responsible for the overall success of the area operations.

Most job time is spent in field environment with some office work required and exposure to all field hazards.  Occasional lifting of materials up to 50 pounds required.  Office hours and schedule may vary. Travel in area is required.  Requires up to 5 miles a day walking at least twice a week.

General Qualifications:

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, understanding of and experience in underground utility construction preferred.  Applicants must have at least 2 years of management experience. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work with people.  Applicants must have windows based PC experience with Excel and Word, must be self-directed and have the ability to problem solve. 

Must have a valid driver’s license, pass a pre-employment drug screen, and have an insurable MVR.
