Locate Technician
Consolidated Utility Services, Inc. is looking for Utility Locators to use mechanical/technical equipment to accurately locate underground facilities including, but not limited to, telephone lines, electric power lines, cable television lines, gas lines, fiber optic lines, water lines, and sewer lines.

Instructor lead training will teach you to interpret job order tickets; read blueprints and maps, locating theory and techniques ; and efficiently route and determine the address and location of each locate in urban and rural areas.
Utility Locators work in and walk over all types of terrain (grass, gravel, ditches, etc.) in and around construction zones and residential, commercial, industrial and rural areas in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, etc.). Locators also remove and replace manhole lids, and must be able to lift up to 75 pounds periodically in order to properly locate buried utility lines.
The work week is Monday – Friday, with the start times varying between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM. During times of peak activity, technicians will work 50-55 hours per week. The position also requires the availability for occasional on-call, including some mandatory overtime and weekend and holiday work when necessary. Travel may be required, including overnight stays and out-of-town assignments/training.
- Ability to remain drug free and pass random drug tests.
- Clean background check for access to controlled or sensitive areas.
- Valid motor vehicle license with an acceptable driving record.
- High School Diploma or GED
